AKMU first captured national attention when they appeared on K-pop Star Season 2 in 2013, winning the competition with their fresh and distinctive self-composed songs such as “Don’t Cross Your Legs,” “You’re Attractive,” and “Is It Ramyeon?”. Their unique musical style left a lasting impression on the Korean music scene.
In 2014, they officially debuted with their first full-length album PLAY, immediately topping digital charts and earning major awards including the Gaon Chart Music Awards and the Korean Music Awards. This success established AKMU as one of Korea’s most respected singer-songwriters, recognized by both the public and critics.
They continued to build their career with releases such as the Spring series, SUMMER EPISODE, and SAILING. Their collaboration album NEXT EPISODE marked a significant expansion of their musical spectrum and received widespread acclaim. In 2023, their fourth single “Love Lee” achieved over 126 Perfect All-Kills across major Korean music platforms, solidifying their reputation as a “trusted artist.”
This year, AKMU released their third mini album LOVE EPISODE, featuring heartfelt and accessible stories about love that resonated deeply with listeners. As the third installment following SUMMER EPISODE and NEXT EPISODE, the album further strengthens AKMU’s unique musical universe.
Celebrating their 10th anniversary, AKMU officially announced their fan club name, “AKKADEMY,” and will hold the 2024 AKMU 10th Anniversary Concert [10VE] on June 15 and 16 at KSPO Dome in Seoul. Over the past decade, their continuous artistic evolution and bold musical exploration have made them one of the most compelling acts to watch for the future.

2013년 SBS ‘K팝스타2’에 혜성처럼 등장해 우승을 거머쥔 AKMU는 ‘다리꼬지마’, ‘매력있어’, ‘라면인건가’ 등 기존에는 볼 수 없었던 통통 튀는 자작곡으로 가요계에 깊은 인상을 각인시켰다. 이후 2014년 정규 1집 [PLAY]로 데뷔하여 단숨에 음원 차트 1위를 차지함과 동시에 ‘가온차트 뮤직 어워드’, ‘한국 대중 음악상’ 등 각종 시상식에서 수상하며 대중과 평단을 사로잡는 싱어송라이터로서의 면모를 입증했다.

이후에도 [사춘기] 시리즈, [SUMMER EPISODE], [항해] 등을 발매하며 활발한 활동을 펼쳤다. AKMU 디스코그라피 최초로 컬래버레이션 앨범을 시도한 [NEXT EPISODE]는 음악적 스펙트럼을 대폭 확장했다는 호평을 받았으며, 2023년 4번째 싱글 [Love Lee]는 국내 주요 음원 사이트에서 126회 이상의 ‘퍼펙트 올킬’을 달성하며, ‘믿고 듣는 아티스트’로 자리매김했다.

그리고, 올해 미니 3집 [LOVE EPISODE]를 발매했다. 누구나 담백하고 편안하게 즐길 수 있는 사랑 이야기들로 대중의 많은 공감을 얻음과 동시에 [SUMMER EPISODE], [NEXT EPISODE]에 이은 3번째 에피소드 시리즈 앨범으로 AKMU만의 음악 세계관을 더욱 견고히 구축했다.

올해로 데뷔 10주년을 맞이한 이들은 공식 팬덤명 ‘AKKADEMY’를 공표하고, 6월 15일과 16일 서울 방이동 올림픽공원 KSPO DOME에서 '2024 AKMU 10주년 콘서트 [10VE]'를 개최한다. 지난 10년 간 새로운 도전을 통해 세상을 놀라게 했던 그들의 발자취는 앞으로의 AKMU를 더욱 기대하게 만든다.
